Park Strip Rebate FAQs

Who gets the rebate check?
You do. Utah Water Savers mails the rebate to the property owner after the final inspection, usually within about 90 days. We prepare your design and paperwork. You pay us when the job is done.
Why can't you start right away?
The program requires a site visit and approval before any lawn is removed. Starting early disqualifies the rebate. We book designs and submit applications in winter, then install after approval.
When do installs happen?
Final inspections run April 15 to October 15 in cities with secondary water, so installs happen in that window. Booking in winter gets you an early spot.
What has to be true to qualify?
The lawn must be living and maintained when it's inspected, the project must be at least 200 sq ft (areas can be combined), plants must cover at least 50% at maturity and stay under 24 inches in park strips, with 3–4 inches of mulch and drip irrigation with a filter and pressure regulator. We design every strip to meet these rules.
Why are rebates different by city?
Central Utah Water pays the higher rate in cities that adopted its water-efficiency landscaping standards. Other cities get half that rate. Rates and city lists can change, so we confirm yours before you commit.
